Are you a cloud computing and hosting enthusiast? Then mark May 25 through May 31 2017 in your calendar, because it’s time for the annual WHD.global. Like last year it takes place at the famous Europapark in Rust.

WHD.global is part of the World Hosting Days (WHDs), an event series for everybody who is passionate hosting. The main event of this is the annual WHD.global conference, which takes place in Germany. WHD.global is a festival for all internet enthusiasts who have fun with new technologies and strategies in the field of connected communication, cloud services and other hosting fields. During the seven day event, visitors will experience an exciting program which has no equal. There will be interesting exhibitions like the hosting.FAIR, great musical acts, and a lot of thrilling speeches which shed light on the most different segments of hosting. For example, Blake Irving from GoDaddy, Göran Marby from ICANN, and Laura Dekker, the youngest person the sail around the world alone, will share their experiences with the audience.

Robert Hoffmann, CEO 1&1 Internet SE, will also give a speech on “How to survive Google and Facebook as a hosting provider.” He will talk about the constantly changing world of hosting, how to deal with competitors, and what hosting providers have to do to leave them behind. You can watch this presentation on May 29 at 4.45pm at the 4D Cinema.

Due to the enormous success of last year’s WHD Cloud Community Hackathon, it will be returning part of the event. The Hackathon begins on May 25, lasts for 3 days, and offers all coding geeks the opportunity to test out their skills.

Sabrina Waltz, Community Manager at 1&1 Internet SE and organizer of the Cloud.Community Hackathon, will present the hackathon results on Tuesday, March 28 at 10:20 am on the main stage. All teams will have the chance to talk about their projects and results.

You will find a Cloud.Community Hackathon booth also on the hosting.FAIR Tuesday and Wednesday, where you can discuss the projects and get detailed information.
