Configure the Firewall Policy

All 1&1 Cloud Server and Baremetal Server accounts come with a Firewall Policy center, which lets you control access to ports on your server. The default Firewall Policy operates as a whitelist, blocking traffic on all but the most commonly-used ports. Learn how to create, configure, and manage a Firewall Policy in the 1&1 Cloud Panel.
- A 1&1 Cloud Server or Baremetal Server (any operating system)
Create a Firewall Policy
Log in to the Cloud Panel, then click Network > Firewall Policies.
From here you can view existing Firewall Policies. Click +Create to create a new Firewall Policy.
Set a name for the Firewall Policy.
To begin, you may want to click + Add Predefined Values to select from a list of common Firewall Policy rules.
Click the traffic type to add the corresponding port access to the Firewall Policy. For example, to allow access to the MySQL port 3303, click MySQL.
This will automatically add a Firewall Policy rule to allow TCP traffic from port 3306 to port 3306, from any IP address.
click + to add a new Firewall Policy rule.
Fill out the protocol, From Port, To Port, and Allowed IP. click + to add the rule.
When you have added all the desired Firewall Policy rules, click Create to create the Firewall Policy.
The Firewall Policy will be created.
Add a Server to a Firewall Policy
You will need to add a server to a Firewall Policy in order for the Firewall Policy's rules to take effect for that server.
From the main Firewall Policy page, click to select the Firewall Policy you wish to use.
Click + Assign to assign a server to this Firewall Policy.
Click to select the server(s) you wish to assign to the Firewall Policy. Then click Save changes.
The server(s) will be added to the Firewall Policy.
