Enabling the API Key

To communicate with the API, you must authenticate yourself with an API key. Create an API key as follows:

  1. In the left menu, click Management > Users.
  2. Select the desired user.
  3. In the API section, click the pencil.
  4. Click Yes.
  5. Click Apply Changes.
  6. Optional:
    • Assign an IP address to the API.
warning Attention:
If you assign an IP address to the API, then you can access the API only using this specified IP address.

  1. In the API Key section, click Show.

The API key will be displayed.


I am a 1and1 server cloud customer and I don't see the API menu item. At "1&1 Cloud Panel"
https://cloudpanel.1and1.com/index?1and1panelid=1and1 . . . #/servers
I see only one menu item under "Management", called "Logs". No "API Key" section

No "API" section and no "Users" section under "Management"--just "Logs".

Hello dano808080, it sounds like you have a Managed Cloud Server account, is that correct? API access is only available to root access Cloud Server accounts. If you want to use the API, you can upgrade to a root access account through the Cloud Panel. (The root access accounts cost less per month.)
